Daniel Herbert Caspari, 68
Daniel Herbert Caspari, age 68 of Morristown, died at his home on Wednesday, November 1, 2017. Born in Owatonna on November 29, 1948, Dan was the son of Herbert and Dorothy (Haberman) Caspari. As a young man he was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Owatonna. He attended country school before graduating from Owatonna High School. He then went on to graduate from Mankato State University with degrees in Business and Accounting. After his time in college Dan served in the United States Army. Following his honorable discharge Daniel was married to Maurine Remington in LeCenter on November 2, 1979. He then held various jobs before opening his own Minneapolis Tribune agency in Waseca in 1981 – a career he continued until his retirement in 1997. Dan wrote for the Waterville Advance for several years, covering WEM wrestling and football. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family, and was an avid “sesquipedalian” (a person who studies and often utilizes large/difficult words). Dan is survived by his wife, Maurine of Morristown; his mother, Dorothy of Mt. Home, AR; one daughter, Carrie (Erik) Luna of Richfield; one granddaughter, Anneke Luna; and one brother, Gary Caspari of Garden City, ID. He was preceded in death by all four of his grandparents; his father; his parents-in-law, Lucias and Ellen Remington; one brother-in-law, Alan Remington; one sister-in-law, Debbie Vanier, and several Aunts and Uncles. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waterville. Visitation was held for one hour before the service at the funeral home. Interment took place at St. John Cemetery in Owatonna at a later date.
