Competition time for New Prague robotics team

The New Prague Robotics Team: TimeBOTS 5275 has been hard at work the past six weeks to prepare their robot for the North Star Regional Competition at Mariucci Arena in Minneapolis Thursday through Saturday, April 6-8.

The team has 22 active members, five mentors, and the team advisor Mark Lockhart, who teaches Technology and Engineering Education at the New Prague Middle School. The robotics team isn’t all about building a robot, it also teaches life skills such as time management, teamwork, financing, marketing and hands-on work. Being visible in the community is very important to the team by fundraising at Pizza Ranch and Coborn’s.

They have also been involved in the community by participating in the Dozinky parade, Homecoming parade, New Prague Regional Science Fair and Camp Invention.

The team captain is Christian Gage, who is the first team member that has been on the team for all four years. In this role, he leads the design and construction of the robot.
