City holding Downtown Highway 19 meetings

The City of New Prague will be holding two meetings about the Downtown Highway 19 Project in the coming weeks. The project is anticipated to begin in the spring of 2020 and will include the reconstruction of Highway 19 (Main Street) in the city’s downtown district. The city and the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) are working together to inform and receive feedback from residents on the project.

First is an information meeting Tuesday, Oct. 17, at the Emergency Services Building (New Prague Fire Department and North Memorial Ambulance), 505 Fifth Ave. NW for business and property owners that are directly adjacent to the roadway. There will be two sessions, the first from 1-2 p.m. and the second from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Affected property owners are asked to come to either session. The city, in partnership with MnDOT, is hosting this special meeting for businesses and residents immediately adjacent to Main Street, Highway 19. Both sessions will have the same materials, and both will have a presentation followed by discussions with project staff.
