Button designer has birthday week surprise
When Kaytlyn Miller has a birthday, she knows how to celebrate.
The fourth-grader at TCU Le Center turned 10 years old on Tuesday, Oct. 3 and she celebrated her special day with her family.
On Friday, she had a surprise party with her classmates when she learned that her drawing was chosen as this year’s button design for the 25th annual Torchlight Parade and Fireworks.
The event surprised all of the fourth-grade students who gathered in the Common’s area just before lunch hour.
When she saw her mom and grandmother, Kaytlyn thought they were there for her birthday. However, Torchlight Committee members, Neaner Kriha and Lynn Heinzig had the real surprise. After introducing themselves as being with the winter festival, Heinzig reminded the kids about the artwork they had done shortly after school started.
