Betty Novak
Betty Ann Novak, age 73 of Montgomery, died Friday, September 29, 2017, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, October 5, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery with Father Victor Valencia officiating with visitation one hour prior at the funeral home.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.
Betty was born on February 11, 1944, in Lanesburgh Township to Frank and Angela (Kadlec) Jakes. Betty is a 1961 graduate of Montgomery High School. Betty was united in marriage to Jerry Novak on September 15, 1962, at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery.
Betty worked at Munsingwear for 20 years, FSI for 20+ years, and bartended part-time for 20+ years. She was also was very active with American Legion Auxiliary, Holy Redeemer C.C.W., Bridge Club and with her children and grandkids going to their various activities, and volunteering for many years for the church festival. Betty also loved playing cards, cooking, baking, sewing, and shopping.
Betty is survived by her husband, Jerry Novak of Montgomery; children, Gary (Tami) of Montgomery, and Ron (Lori) of River Falls, WI; grandchildren, Elly, Ellaina, Leah and Alex; step-grandchildren, Chris, Ben, Alex, and Jennifer; sisters, Evelyn Bastyr of New Prague, and Marion Nelson of New Prague; brothers and sisters-in-law, Marcy Hadac, George Novak, Carolyn (Wilbert) Shimota, Francis “Fritz” (Joyce) Novak, and Mary Jane Vosejpka; many other relatives, and friends.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Richard Bastyr, Bob Nelson, Ann Fischer, Rose (Joe) Franek, Lawrence Novak, Ed Hadac, Francis Vosejpka, and Alice Novak.
