‘Very, very dangerous’ suspect apprehended at Golf Course

A man who has been on the run for weeks after a SWAT team surrounded his Waterville home, has been apprehended.
 
James Anthony Otis, age 54, was arrested in Montgomery, Friday afternoon, June 16, after leading law enforcement on a chase through the city.
 
According to a pair of complaints filed June 19 in Le Sueur County District Court, Otis has been charged with five felonies and a misdemeanor. He was charged with three counts of violation of predatory offender registration statute, one count of controlled substance crime in the first degree (sale), one count of controlled substance crime 
in the third degree (possession), one charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm, and fleeing a peace officer - other than a motor vehicle.
 
Otis was arrested in the City of Montgomery and was found to be in possession of controlled substances and $4,481 in U.S. currency according to the complaint. Sheriff Brett Mason told the Montgomery City Council on Monday that Otis was “very, very dangerous.”
 
“He has been in four different pursuits in four different jurisdictions. There have been five different guns seized in three jurisdictions. He has outstanding felony warrants and we apprehended him on the fairway of the first hole of the Montgomery National Golf Course.”
